The Central Bank of Iceland has determined that New Year’s Eve, 31 December, will not be counted as a banking day going forward.
Companies, institutions and other entities who issue claims, pay salaries etc. are advised that any claims to be paid in 2025 must have a final due date for payment no later than Tuesday, 30 December 2025. Please also note that all payments to be completed in the calendar year 2025 must by executed no later than 30 December.
As New Year’s Eve ceases to be a banking day, transactions made on 31 December 2025 will not be registered until 2 January 2026.
