New per­sonn­el in Corporate Fin­ance

Guðmundur Már Thórsson and Júlíus Fjeldsted are new members of Landsbankinn’s Corporate Finance team.

Júlíus has extensive and long-standing experience of capital management and corporate finance. He previously worked as project manager in Icelandair’s finance division. Before that, he was CFO of AwareGo and BingBang Aps in Copenhagen. Júlíus has also worked in corporate finance for GAMMA Capital Management, Beringer Finance and PwC and as an independent advisor for several years.

Júlíus holds a master's degree in finance and international business from Aarhus University and a B.Sc. in finance from the University of Iceland.

Guðmundur Már Thórisson moves to Landsbankinn from KPMG, where he has worked as an advisor since 2020. He has previously worked at Ernst & Young and Íslandsbanki.

Guðmundur holds a MAcc in auditing from Reykjavik University, an M.Sc. in finance from Imperial College Business School London and a B.Sc. in business administration from the University of Iceland. He has also completed courses from Columbia University and Stanford University in the US.

The owners of candy producer Freyja and Langisjór ehf. have concluded an agreement on the purchase by Langisjór of K-102 ehf., which wholly-owns the subsidiary Freyja, as well as real estate connected to the operation. The sale was concluded subject to approval by the Icelandic Competition Authority. Landsbankinn Corporate Finance managed the sale process of K-102 ehf. and acted as advisor to the seller.

Changes to fixed rates on new housing mortgages

Fixed rates on new non-indexed 36-month housing mortgages increase by 0.15 percentage points (pp) and fixed rates on new non-indexed 60-month housing mortgages by 0.25 pp. Fixed rates on new 60-month inflation-indexed housing mortgages increase by 0.20 pp. The changes enter into effect as at 10 November 2022.

Investment company Kaldbakur purchases the Landsbankinn building in Akureyri

Landsbankinn has accepted the offer of Akureyri-based investment company Kaldbakur for its building, commonly known as Landsbankahúsið, at Ráðhústorgið in Akureyri. Seven offers were received and Kaldbakur made the highest bid. The purchase price is ISK 685 million. Landsbankinn will operate out of the building until it relocates.
