We warn against emails that are currently being sent, ostensibly in Landsbankinn’s name. The email states that the recipient’s bank account with Landsbankinn has been closed and asks people to click on a link to log in. This is an attempt to get people to enter their login information on a fraudulent site.
Please remember that Landsbankinn never sends emails containing links to our login page for online banking or Landsbankinn’s app.
To log in to the app or online banking, always go the direct route, by opening the app or going to landsbankinn.is.
To reiterate:
- We never send you links that lead to the login page for online banking or the app.
- Never approve login requests, transfers, payment card transactions or other actions in online banking/the app unless you are really out these actions.
- Don’t approve any login activity with electronic ID unless you are in fact using them to sign in.
- If you have entered information into a fake website, change your password for online banking/the app and your bank account security numbers immediately.
