We have now added settings to Landsbankinn’s app that further enhance security in card transactions and banking. These settings allow you to easily deactivate certain payment card functions in the app and to reactivate them just as easily at your convenience. If necessary, you can activate emergency closure that suspends the function of all of your cards and shuts down access to the app and online banking.
Enhanced security in card transactions and simpler monitoring
To adjust these settings, select “Cards” and then the three dots that appear under the image of each card. Under “Security and monitoring”, you have the option of deactivating certain card functions. You can reactivate the functions whenever you need. The functions you can deactivate are:
- Use of the physical card
- Non-domestic card use
- Access to ecommerce
- Use in ATMs
- Contactless payment
If you seldom use your card to shop online and rarely travel abroad, it can be a good idea to close your card for ecommerce or non-domestic use. It’s easy to reactivate these functions at any time.
Simple to set up monitoring
The app allows you to monitor card use according to your needs. You can choose to receive notification when a deposit is made to the card, for cardless withdrawals (such as online shopping), ATM withdrawals and/or when the balance on the card drops below a limit of your choosing. Notifications for cardless withdrawals are free of charge.
Emergency closure
If you think there is reason to suspend all access to online banking or the app, such as if you think you have been the victim of fraud, you can select emergency closure under settings in the app. Emergency closure is effective immediately and access can only be restored by contacting us during opening hours.
- Suspends access to the app and online banking for both individuals and corporates.
- Closes access to all debit cards, credit cards and prepaid cards, both in your own name and your business cards.
- Cancels authorisations to use biometrics for authentication purposes on all devices.
