Around 18,000 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) currently bank with Landsbankinn and the bank has recently placed a strong emphasis on improving services for this important customer group as Lilja B. Einarsdóttir, CEO of Landsbankinn, highlighted in her opening remarks.

Arnheiður Klausen Gísladóttir, department head in Landsbankinn’s Corporate Banking division, discussed the key factors the Bank considers when business owners present plans for growth and expansion, with the goal of securing financing support. She emphasised the importance of trust in relationships and the need for well-prepared and credible business plans. Assisting businesses in scaling is, according to her, one of the most rewarding aspects of the job. “At Landsbankinn, we’re fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with many exceptional businesses. In many cases, we’ve been involved from the very beginning - from the moment the company was registered, and sometimes even earlier, as many start their operations under their personal “kennitala”,” she said.
