Team Flóaskóli is win­ner of Skó­lahrey­sti 2024

The teams from Flóaskóli and Laugalækjarskóli elementary schools were equal in points after exciting finals in Skólahreysti (Fit for School) in Mýrin, Garðabær on Saturday 25 May. Both schools received 57.5 out of 72 points! When schools tie for points, their results in the five competition events determines the winner. Flóaskóli scored more points than Laugalækjarskóli in three of the five events and is the winner of Skólahreysti 2024.

The Laugalandsskóli team came in third with 49 points.

Fjóla Indíana Sólbergsdóttir from Grunnskólinn austan Vatna, performed the most push-ups, or 53. Bryndís Óskarsdóttir, from Langholtsskóli, won the longest single arm hang, with 12.48 minutes. Helgi Reynisson, from Flóaskóli, won the pull-up event with 52 pull-ups. Svanur Bergvin Guðmundsson, from Holtaskóli, outperformed the competition with a total of 46 plunges. Laugalækjarskóli achieved the best time on the speed course, with Lukka Gautadóttir and Daði Logason completing the course in 2 minutes and 8 seconds.

The winning team from Flóaskóli is made up of Helgi Reynisson, Ásrún Hansdóttir, Karólína Thórbergsdóttir and David Örn Aitken Sævarsson.

The silver medallists from Laugalækjarskóli are Thorsteinn Orri Ólafsson, Silva S. Snædahl Agnarsdóttir, Lukka Gautadóttir and Daði Logason.

In third place, the team from Laugalandsskóli was comprised of Vikar Reyr Víðisson, Esja Sigríður Nönnudóttir, Helga Fjóla Erlendsdóttir and Steindór Orri Thórbergsson.

Other contestants in the finale this year were Holtaskóli, Grunnskóli Húnathings vestra, Langholtsskóli, Thelamerkurskóli, Grunnskólinn austan Vatna, Varmahlíðarskóli, Grunnskólinn á Hellu, Hraunvallaskóli and Hagaskóli.
