Landsbankinn was ranked highest by banking customers in the Icelandic Performance Satisfaction Index 2022. This is the fourth year in a row that the Bank receives this recognition.

Lilja Björk Einarsdóttir, CEO of Landsbankinn:

“Landsbankinn’s strategy is primarily centred on customer service and being a trusted and dynamic bank that is an active participant in the community. We offer favourable terms, sound advice and up-to-date information, and find successful, long-term solutions for our customers. We see this recognition as one of the main measurements of our success. Topping the Performance Satisfaction Index for the fourth year in a row is huge win for us, confirming that we are on the right track with our focus on providing simpler, more accessible and better service.

Customer opinion of our service is of course based on several different factors. Customers use the app and online banking to tend to their finances in the majority of cases and our focus on continuing to enhance and improve our digital platform plays a large part in growing customer satisfaction. Another point that makes the Bank unique is that our customer can come see us and receive exceptional personal advice and service from our amazing Customer Service Centre or in branches and outlets throughout the country.

It is also telling that our market share has increased steadily over the past years, both in the retail and corporate market. In December, our share in the retail market exceeded 40% and has never been higher.

The Bank’s solutions and services depend on wonderful employees who love success and love contributing to our customers’ success. Our team goes the extra mile, taking on new challenges and responding to rapid changes to ensure that Landsbankinn remains among the top companies in Iceland. I am both proud and thankful for that. I am also certain that we will continue to do better.”

The Icelandic Performance Satisfaction Index is owned by Stjórnvísi and carried out by Prósent. The Index annually measures customer satisfaction, expectations and experience with businesses.

Economic forecast to 2028: Slow economic growth in Iceland
The cooling trend in the domestic economy looks set to continue longer than previously predicted. Economic growth will be modest and mainly export driven. The outlook is for 4.8% inflation this year and it is likely that the policy rate will be raised to 8.25%, also this year. There are signs of slackening in the labour market, with increasing unemployment and lower demand for workers.
