Mortgage payment adjustment index

The mortgage payment adjustment index consists of a wage index weighted with the employment level. Statistics Iceland calculates and publishes this index on a monthly basis. When mortgage payment adjustment is applied to housing loans, debt service is based on the mortgage payment adjustment index rather than the CPI.
