Chat in the app - and more new fea­tures!

Landsbankinn’s web chat is now available in our app and offers a direct channel to the Customer Service Centre and our chatbot. This is one of many new features in the app which is under constant development.

In the app, Ellí, the Bank’s chatbot, can direct customers to the appropriate product or process in the app or the relevant page on our website. Ellí can answer the majority of general queries and draws on a database of around 2000 answers from the Bank’s experts - 2000 and growing!

Among other new features added to the app in recent months:

  • Transfer Aukakrónur to another Aukakrónur collector.
  • Apply for mandatory and supplementary pension and view detailed summaries of pension contributions and rights.
  • Apply for a mortgage and refinance quickly and easily.
  • On-boarding in the app has been made even simpler.
  • An inbox has been added to the app for notifications and information from the Bank.
  • New settings have been introduced to enhance security in payment card transaction and banking even further.
  • Soon, authentication of online payments will run via Landsbankinn’s app and electronic ID.
  • Card receipts will soon be added directly to corporate accounting systems.

Use of the app always growing

Over 144,000 individuals now use Landsbankinn’s app every month in over 3.5 million monthly log-ins. Use of the app has grown by 13% this year to date.

Since our chatbot Ellí was introduced in February 2024, she has responded to around 250,000 queries and messages from our customers. Customers who give us feedback are happy with her answers in 87.5% of cases and give her the thumbs up!
