Kristín Gunnarsdóttir has been appointed Head of Media & Research, a new department within Landsbankinn’s Communications & Culture Division that will commence operations at the end of February. The department will encompass the Bank’s PR team and its Economic Research Department. Una Jónsdóttir, Chief Economist of Landsbankinn, will continue to lead the Economic Research team within the new department.
The objective of the new department is to strengthen coordinated and strategy-driven communication by the Bank, both internally and externally. Media & Research will be responsible for communications, public relations, dissemination of research and external educational initiatives, supporting a consistent and clear delivery of the Landsbankinn brand in public debate. The Communications & Culture Division also includes human resources, marketing and the Bank’s property management operations.
Kristín has extensive and broad-based experience in communications. She has worked at the cross-section of corporations and the media and has collaborated closely with management on shaping messaging and strategic communications. In recent years, she served as Marketing and Communications Director at engineering firm EFLA, where she was responsible for internal and external communications, led a team and oversaw strategy development, media relations and editorial responsibility for the annual report. Kristín has also worked as an independent consultant in the fields of communications, branding and public debate, in addition to being co-host of the hit podcast Komið gott and acting as a commentator.
Kristín holds an MA degree in Design and Visual Communications from Universität der Künste in Berlin and is currently pursuing an MA in Digital Innovation and Strategic Leadership at Hyper Island Stockholm/Teesside University.
