Landsbankinn í Reykjastræti
2 October 2026

Styrkás hf. has signed an agreement to acquire all shares in Malbikstöðin ehf. and the company’s sites at Esjumelar. Landsbankinn Corporate Finance acted as advisor to Styrkás in the transaction.

The acquisition forms part of Styrkás development as a service company for infrastructure and industry. Styrkás has also begun preparations for listing its shares on the Main Market of Nasdaq Iceland and has retained Landsbankinn as listing manager.  The aim is for the company to be listed in the second quarter of 2027.

Malbikstöðin was founded in 2004 and specialises in asphalt production and paving. It will continue to operate as an independent company within Styrkás and will form the Group’s fifth core business area.

Following the transaction, the seller of Malbikstöðin, a company owned by Vilhjálmur Þór Matthíasson, will hold a 10.2% stake in Styrkás.

The transaction is subject to customary conditions, including  approval by the Icelandic Competition Authority. In addition to Landsbankinn Corporate Finance, BBA // Fjeldco, Fontes Ráðgjöf and KPMG advised the buyer.
