Customers who booked flights with Fly PLAY hf. with payment cards are entitled to reimbursement for cancelled flights.
- It is possible to apply for reimbursement of airfares if the ticket was purchased with a payment card (credit, debit and prepaid card). Register a chargeback claim on our website, selecting Play services not rendered - Flights. under chargeback type.
- Customers who paid for tickets using other payment methods can lodge a claim against the estate.
- The deadline to submit chargeback claims is 120 days after the date of the cancelled flight.
- We advise customers to submit chargeback claims as promptly as possible as processing of such claims may take some time.
- Note that according to the terms and conditions of payment cards and travel insurance, no compensation is paid for other expenses linked to the trip in the event of the bankruptcy of an airline, such as accommodation.
- Card holders who booked their flight through a travel agency are advised to contact their travel agency.
- We encourage customers who used Aukakrónur to purchase flights with Play to apply for reimbursement by lodging a chargeback claim.
The above information applies to card holders with payment cards issued by Landsbankinn. Other card holders should apply to their bank or card issuer for information.

The team Affineva emerged as the winner in the Gulleggið 2026 finals. Gulleggið is the largest and oldest innovation and startup competition in Iceland. Sara Pálsdóttir, Managing Director of Community & Culture, presented the team with handsome prize money furnished by Landsbankinn, the competition’s main backer.

Lúðurinn is hosted by ÍMARK, the Association of Icelandic Marketing Professionals, in collaboration with the Society of Icelandic Advertising Agencies. This is the 40th time the Lúðurinn awards are presented in Iceland.

Applications for Landsbankinn scholarships are now open. The Bank has supported promising students with financial grants for 36 years. This year it was decided to raise the total amount of scholarships granted by ISK 2 million, bringing the total amount of scholarships to be awarded this year to ISK 10 million.
