Strong attendance and lively discussion at economic forecast meeting

28 October 2026

The venue was full on Wednesday, 21 October, when Landsbankinn Economic Research presented its economic forecast through to 2029.

The meeting reviewed current economic conditions and the outlook, and guests were awarded valuable insight into Alvotech’s operations and plans. The meeting concluded with a lively panel discussion.

Una Jónsdóttir, Landsbankinn’s Chief Economist, opened the meeting by presenting the forecast’s main findings. Economic Research expects modest economic growth this year and next, with the outlook gradually improving. Inflation has kept interest rates high and slowed the economy. It can be attributed, among other factors, to conflicts abroad and domestic fee increases. Unemployment has also risen and there are clear signs that the labour market has slowed.

Lisa Graver, CEO of Alvotech, then delivered an informative presentation on the company’s history and development, its growth and the opportunities ahead.

The meeting concluded with lively panel discussions on economic conditions and the outlook for the coming years. Participants were Ásdís Kristjánsdóttir, Mayor of Kópavogur; Árni Thór Thorbjörnsson, Managing Director of Landsbankinn Corporate Banking; Guðný Erla Guðnadóttir, Head of Bonds and Mixed Funds at Landsbréf; and Lárus Welding, CFO of Stodir. The discussion was moderated by Hjalti Óskarsson, Economist at Landsbankinn Economic Research.

We thank everyone who attended for their participation, insightful discussion and an excellent meeting.
