Landsbankinn celebrates its 140 year anniversary and TM turns 70 this year. We invite you all to mark the occasion with us in Landsbankinn branches around the country on Thursday, 20 August at 14:00-16:00.
Landsbankinn was established in 1886 and has been a part of the community for 140 years. This is also a big year for TM, which celebrates 70 years of operation. This clearly calls for celebration.
Birthday parties around the country
30 of Landsbankinn’s branches around the country will welcome guests and offer light refreshments. We encourage customers to come by and enjoy the occasion with us.
The anniversary will be celebrated at the following branches
- Capital region: Reykjastræti, Borgartún, Mjódd, Grafarholt, Hamraborg and Hafnarfjörður.
- Suðurnes peninsula and West Iceland: Reykjanesbær, Akranes and Snæfellsnes (Ólafsvík).
- West Fjords and Northwest Iceland: Ísafjörður, Patreksfjörður, Hvammstangi, Blönduós and Sauðárkrókur.
- North Iceland: Akureyri, Dalvík, Húsavík and Raufarhöfn.
- East Iceland: Thórshöfn, Vopnafjörður, Egilsstaðir, Reyðarfjörður, Neskaupstaður, Djúpivogur and Hornafjörður.
- South Iceland: Selfoss, Reykholt, Thorlákshöfn, Hvolsvöllur and Vestmannaeyjar.
The branches in Breiðdalsvík, Djúpivogur, Kópasker and Skagaströnd are not open on Thursdays and will not participate in the celebrations this time around.

Landsbankinn Corporate Finance acted as advisor to the sellers on the sale of 100% of shares in Nicetravel ehf., one of the leading operators of organised small-group tours for visitors to Iceland. The company was acquired by a group of domestic investors.

Laufey Rún Ketilsdóttir has joined the new Media & Research department at Landsbankinn as a communication and PR specialist. The department plays a key role in ensuring coordinated and strategic information disclosure from the Bank.

The design of Reykjastræti 6 received BREEAM certification in the summer of 2023 and now the construction and fit-out of the building have achieved the same certification. Both phases received the rating Excellent, which is the second-highest level in the BREEAM certification system. The Bank’s building is the first project in Iceland to receive final certification with this rating under the 2016 BREEAM standard.

On Wednesday 3 June 2026, Rarik ohf. completed an offering of a new green bond series, RARIK 100633 GB, accepting bids in the total amount of ISK 10 billion. This marks the company's first green bond issuance under its Green Financing Framework.
