1+1+1 + Hugdetta +
1+1+1 is an experimental collaboration between three Nordic design houses: Hugdetta from Iceland, Petra Lilja from Sweden and Aalto+Aalto from Finland. The project examines and reimagines objects by having each studio design an object consisting of three distinct parts and then mixing the parts up into unpredictable combinations. The outcome is unforeseen by the designers and therefore often surprising to both designers and the audience.
Salted pussy
SALTED PUSSY is an exhibition that sheds light on the experiences of women and genderqueer in graphic design in Icelandic through three time periods: the past, present, and future. The exhibition combines historical narratives, contemporary reflections, and an optimistic vision for the future of women and genderqueer in the field.
Synþenkja vol II
Imagine a world where perceptions overlap, sound becomes smell, smell is movement, movement becomes a drawing. We usually assume that we see colours with our eyes, smell with our nose and hear music with our ears - the boundaries are usually considered clear. When these boundaries are broken, we speak of synesthesia.
Hæ/Hi: Designing Friendship
Hæ/Hi: Designing Friendship, a collaborative project between Icelandic and Seattle-based design studios, will address how we entertain guests, the acts that take place in the kitchen, and the activities associated with preparing food in their fourth exhibition, Hæ/Hi: Volume IV | Objects for Hosting.
Livery
The collaboration between Studio Flétta and Icelandair continues. The retired uniform is again sent on a new journey. This year, utilising a different methodology, the materials were cut, tailored, and utterly transformed into a series of decorative pillows threaded with an element of history.
30 Years of Icelandic Design
30 Years of Icelandic Design celebrates the 30th anniversary of the Association of Product and Industrial Designers in Iceland. It is a unique opportunity to see a small, curated selection of Icelandic designs from the last three decades. The show is by no means an exhaustive overview of design history in Iceland but an animated insight into the imagination, creativity and diversity of design in Iceland.
