This is a warning concerning a fake website made to look like that of Auðkenni and which includes a fraudulent connection to Landsbankinn.
Cybercriminals have recently been using text messages in an attempt to trick people. The texts state that the recipient’s registration is incomplete and people are asked to open a link to rectify the situation.
This link leads to a page where people are asked to authenticate with electronic ID. This is a fake site that is not affiliated with either Landsbankinn or Auðkenni. Please do not open the link and be wary of text messages asking you to do so.
We encourage everyone to be alert against the possibility of cybercrime.
