Alfa Framtak acquires Nói Síríus

26 March 2026

Alfa Framtak has reached an agreement with Orkla Snacks to acquire all shares in Nói Síríus.

AF3, a fund managed by Alfa Framtak, has finalised an agreement with Orkla Snacks for the purchase of 100% of the share capital of Nói Síríus. With this transaction, Nói Síríus returns to Icelandic ownership after a successful period under Orkla Snacks’ ownership. The transaction is subject to approval by the Icelandic Competition Authority.

Nói Síríus hf. was founded in 1920 and is one of the most recognised manufacturing and marketing companies in Iceland. Since its founding, the company has been engaged in the production and distribution of chocolate and other snacks. Under Orkla Snacks’ ownership, the company has been transformed from a traditional family business into a forward-looking snacks company with a clear focus on quality and strong brands. Alfa Framtak will be able to build and grow the company on this solid foundation.

Alfa Framtak is an Icelandic private equity firm, fully owned by its partners and regulated by the Central Bank of Iceland. The firm currently manages three funds with a strategy centred on acquiring majority stakes in established companies with strong fundamentals and clear potential for transformation and growth.

Alfa Framtak takes a hands-on ownership approach, combining operational expertise with disciplined investment processes to build resilient and competitive businesses. The firm has a strong track record of value creation across traditional buyouts, growth capital, and special situations. The firm is committed to responsible investment and supports growth across key sectors such as industrial innovation, digitalisation and the blue economy.

Landsbankinn Corporate Finance and LOGOS acted as advisors to the seller in the transaction. BBA//FJELDCO and KPMG acted as advisors to the buyer.
