Community grants in the total amount of ISK 20 million were awarded from Landsbankinn’s Community Fund Monday 8 December 2025. A total of 32 initiatives received financial support this year. The projects are varied and benefit people of all ages and throughout Iceland.
Landsbankinn's community grants are intended to benefit humanitarian and charitable pursuits; education, science and research; preventative measures and youth activities; environmental issues, nature conservation and sustainability; and culture and arts projects.
The panel was comprised of actor Felix Bergsson, Dagný Jónsdóttir, Project Manager with the National Commissioner of Police, and Aðalheiður Snæbjarnardóttir, Head of Sustainability at Landsbankinn.
Since 2011, almost 500 projects have received grants in the total amount of over ISK 245 million from Landsbankinn’s Community Fund. In addition to the community grants, the Fund awards scholarships on an annual basis. Grants from the Community Fund are in addition to the Bank’s other varied partnerships and programmes throughout Iceland.
This year, over 400 applications were received and the grant recipients are all extremely interesting and ambitious.
