Landsbankinn and TM in Selfoss will move to a new building at Austurvegur 11 in Selfoss before the end of 2027, according to a long-term rental agreement with Fossver ehf.
The building will be erected at Austuvegur 11 where the store of Karl R. Guðmundsson has been located.
The Selfoss branch is one of the largest Landsbankinn branches with a staff of 18. The Bank’s service points in Reykholt and Thorlákshöfn also belong to the branch, bringing the total number of staff in Árnessýsla to 22.
Landsbankinn sold the historic Landsbankinn building Austurvegur 20 in Selfoss in 2020. The building, constructed based on blueprints by Guðjón Samúelsson, is around 1,200 square metres.
Since its sale, the Bank has operated out of the ground floor of the building and will continue to do so until the move.
The new premises will be around 440 square metres compared to the 660 square metres currently used by the Selfoss branch.
