Akureyri branch moves to new location

Starfsfólk í útibúi Landsbankans á Akureyri
14 February 2025

Landsbankinn’s Akureyri branch has moved to a new location at Hofsbót 2-4 in downtown Akureyri. The branch is open between 10-16 while ATMs and other self-service equipment is accessible around the clock.

To mark the occasion, we’ll offer coffee to all visitors today, Friday 14 February, and look forward to welcoming customers and other guests at our new location.

The Akureyri branch is one of the largest Landsbankinn branches with a staff of 30 people. Around half of the employees work in the branch proper while others work in the Bank’s Customer Service Centre, which tends to customers in the entire country, or centralised functions such as IT and legal services. The new branch is around 600 square metres and is a much more fitting and efficient than the older premises.

Landsbankinn has worked out of the old Landsbankinn building at Strandgata 1 for 70 years, or since 1954. The Bank began operations in Akureyri in 1902.
