Biotech company Algalíf has received Landsbankinn’s Sustainable Financing Label for production of ecolabeled products.
Algalíf produces food supplement astaxanthin from microalgae. The production is certified by CarbonNeutral.
Landsbankinn’s Sustainable Financing Label is awarded to corporates who meet the sustainability criteria of the Bank’s Sustainable Finance Framework and fulfil strict ESG requirements.
“This recognition shows that working with integrity on social responsibility, environmental issues and sustainability is good business and encourages us to continue on this path,” says Orri Björnsson, CEO of Algalíf.

Landsbankinn’s canteen in Reykjastræti 6 has been recertified under the Nordic Swan Ecolabel, for the first time since the Bank moved to its new headquarters. The Bank’s canteen has been verified by the Nordic Swan since 2013 and was the first canteen in Icelandic to receive such certification.

On 20 February 2025, the Nordic Investment Bank (NIB) launched an ISK 8.5 billion environmental bond in its first issuance in the ISK bond market in over 16 years. The bonds are issued under NIB’s Environmental Bond Framework. Landsbankinn coordinated promotion and sale of the bonds to investors.

Changes include a completely new approach to payments, a new log-in and authentication processes and a new dashboard that facilitates overview.
