National client identifier
The national client identifier (NCI) is an international code for individuals based on national Id. Nos., TINs and passport numbers assigned by each country. The composition of the NCI code varies from country to country, see list. Financial institution use NCI codes when reporting on transactions with financial instruments to regulators.
Who is required submit information about their NCI code?
Individuals who are Icelandic citizens and do not have multiple citizenships are not required to register their NCI code. Non-Icelandic citizens or individuals who hold a double or multiple citizenships are required to inform Landsbankinn about all of its foreign NCI codes.
Information about the NCI code of individuals may be emailed to nci@landsbankinn.is along with your name, Icelandic Id. No. and name of the country where you hold citizenship.
